Great deal for great clients – why use a personal travel consultant?

It is so nice to be in a position to help someone find their perfect holiday and then top if off by getting them an amazing deal on that dreal holiday.

I had a lady contact me wanting to go on her dream holiday somewhere in the east. By asking her what her bucket list of places to visit in the area I was able to help her identify what her top 5 places to experiences were.

Having identified what she was looking for I then went on a hunt for the best itineraries at the best price for her.

I came up with a tour option, a twin centre option and a cruise and stay option.

She was then able to compare these options and have her queries answered.

The Celebrity cruise and stay option became her top choice, so I asked her for some time while I went and refined the dates and itinerary that worked for them the best.

The Celebrity cruise itinerary that covered Vietnam and Thailand was on sale with great savings for 2024 sailings. I was able to add flights from their prefered airport and a pre cruise stay in Hong Kong at a 5* hotel with wonderful views over Hong Kong bay. Top Travel Updates For 17/7/23

If you have plans to fly from Birmingham airport – check the airport website regarding planned strikes for current updates.

The Acropolis has been closed to visitors due the extreme heat in that area (anyone that has had the pleasure of visiting this wonder of the world will appreciate that given the long walk/crowds/steps and exposed location that this is wise)

There is a Heat Wave travel warning to anyone planning on visiting Italy (we were all set to go to Italy this week and made the hard decision to put of our travel plans for now as my husband does not do well in temperatures over 30 – better safe than sorry)

Easyjet is starting a new flight route from Manchester to Lapland making it even easier to visit Santa this year. (If you have been to Lapland you will know that he is ‘real’)

Rhodes travel advice update from GOV.UK

Heatwave and wildfires in Europe

Extreme temperatures are affecting many areas of Greece and there are a number of active wildfires including in Rhodes. If you are a British national affected by wildfires in Rhodes, please follow the guidance from the emergency services. Call the Greek Emergency Services on 112 if you are in immediate danger.

The Greek government has established a Crisis Management Unit to respond to the situation in Rhodes. They can be contacted on +30 210 368 1730 / +30 210 3681259 / +30 210 3681350.

In the first instance, please contact your airline or travel operator who can assist you with return travel to the UK.

If you are planning to travel to Rhodes, please check with your travel operator or hotel prior to travel that the area you plan to visit is not impacted by the current wildfires.

Beginning in 2024, Bali will start charging a ‘tourist tax’ from all out-of-country tourists equivalent to nearly $10 for every person, with the profits going for ecological and traditional conservation. It is expected that this will be payable electronically.
